]]> This is a very rare vintage poster issued by the Herut movement as part of the election campaign in Israel. The symbol of the former resistance organization Irgun (Etzel) is standing on top of the poster, to remind the reader what is the origin of the party and what it stands for.

Herut was the major right-wing nationalist political party in Israel from 1948 until its formal merger into Likud in 1988. It was an adherent of Revisionist Zionism and was initially known in part for its militia actions; it became more moderate from the 1950s. Social realism

Vintage Israeli sign on cardboard “Stock”, was one of the leading alcohol brands in the 50th and the 60th. “Stock” Israel, a branch of the famus Italien “Stock” winery., design: Unknown.

The advertising industry in Palestine/Eretz Israel,  began before the establishment of the State of Israel in the 1920s. The leading designers of the period were teachers in the graphic department of the “Bezalel Academy of Art”. The “Levant Fair”, (the leading consumer fair at the time), gave a tremendous boost to the field. With the establishment of the State of Israel, the first advertising agencies were established   and led the advertising field forward.
