46th Independence Day Poster, Design: David Shapira, 1994.

 

The theme of the 46th Independence Day was environmental protection. The poster depicts children peeking through windows alongside images of flowers, buildings, and animals as symbols of Israel. The peace agreement signed with Jordan in the same year is represented by the dove of peace in the lower right corner of the poster.

Each year since the state was established, an official poster is published by the Israeli ministry of Education commemorating Israel’s existence.

A design contest is held between the local most professional and known artists. The poster mostly contains a symbolic motive relate to the state of Israel.
