Medinat HaYehudim, First Hebrew Edition, Printed in the Same Year as the First German Edition. Warsaw, [1896]

“The Jewish State”
Der Judenstaat
One Of The Most Important Texts Of Early Zionism

Dr. Theodor Herzl, Medinat Hayehudim (Der Judenstaat), a new way to solve the Jewish question. Translated, under a special license by the author, by Michel Berkowitz, published by Tushiya. Warsaw 1896, Halter and Eisenstadt Press.

The first Hebrew edition, published at the end of the same year during which the first German edition was published, with special forewords by the publishers and the translator.

[2], 82, VI pp. 18 cm.

Bound with “Roma V’Yerushalayim”, by Moshe Hess, Warsaw 1899.

Fine condition, stains and minor worming holes.

2 different books on the same subject (The Question of the Jewish Nation and Zionism) bound together in one cover.  The two books were printed by Tushia Publishing, the first one “The State of the Jews” first edition was printed in 1896. The second book “Rome in Jerusalem” was printed in 1899.  Since the second book is actually a sequel to the second book the publisher bound them together and sold in stores in the same cover
I think this is a very rare and interesting item.
