1980s Original Zionist Election Poster – “Tehiya” Nationalist Movement, Israel

A striking 1980s original Israeli political poster designed for the “Tehiya” (Renaissance) nationalist party. The design features a bold, high-contrast black-and-white graphic of a determined Israeli youth holding an Israeli flag, set against a stylized cyan-blue and white national flag integrated with the outline map of Greater Israel. The bottom section features the party name “התחיה” in bold, geometric Hebrew typography.

Founded in 1979 in response to the Camp David Accords and the withdrawal from Sinai, the Tehiya party brought together prominent Zionist intellectuals, former underground fighters, and pioneers of the settlement movement. The party advocated for Israeli sovereignty over all territories, the expansion of settlements across Judea, Samaria, and the Golan Heights, Soviet Jewish immigration, and traditional Zionist education. Key figures included world-renowned nuclear physicist and party leader Prof. Yuval Ne’eman, former Lehi fighter and parliamentarian Geula Cohen, author Moshe Shamir, former IDF Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan (Raful), Rabbi Hanan Porat, and Elyakim Haetzni.
