This is an original Israeli May Day poster from May 1st 1945 published by the Histadrut HaOvdim. On the top is written “Workers of the world – Unite!”. Very artistic work by the very known Israeli artist Otte Wallish.

Wallish was responsible for the calligraphy and design of the scroll for Israel’s Declaration of Independence and took the lead in designing Israel’s first postage stamps. Wallish also contributed a variety of original designs, including the World Refugee Year (1960), the 25th Zionist Congress (1960), and the centennial of the Hebrew press in Israel.He also designed a menorah stamp (1952) and a defense series (1957), with the insignia of the Haganah.
