HaTzofe (Hebrew: הצופה, The Observer) was a Hebrew language daily newspaper published in Israel. In April 2007, it was reduced to weekly publication until its closing over a year later.

According to the paper’s website, its point of view is Zionist, nationalist and religious. It claimed to be the only daily newspaper of the Israeli political right, with an emphasis on religious Zionism. The newspaper had been associated in its past to the Mizrachi movement as well as being the beacon of National Religious Party.

In the May 2003, Shlomo Ben-Tzvi purchased the newspaper and in 2004, he purchased the weekly Makor Rishon as well. On 25 April 2007, HaTzofe stopped publishing a daily edition, instead becoming a weekly insert in Makor Rishon which instead began daily operations. It printed its last edition on Friday, 26 December 2008.[1]

“Building and creating in the spirit of Torah and tradition”

PAI ran in the Constituent Assembly, the first Knesset, as part of the United Religious Front. Agudat Israel is independent, in clashes between its supporters and Agudat Israel supporters [4]. It won two seats. Together with Agudat Israel it joined the coalition of the third government of Israel and Kalman Kahana served as deputy minister in the Ministry of Education. Israel left the coalition because of its opposition to the recruitment of women to the IDF. At the beginning of December, Agudath Israel workers negotiated amendments to the National Service Law and re-entered the coalition, in which Benjamin Mintz was to be appointed Minister of Welfare [5]. The Vision Man criticized the emerging agreement and the Council of Torah Scholars issued a ruling that it is forbidden to serve in national service in any framework, even non-military. Following this, PAI withdrew from the move. [6] Agudat Israel workers’ institutions disagreed over joining the coalition. To the government.
