“Hanukkah” Vintage Israeli JNF Children Poster Israel 1960’s

A beautiful Hanukkah poster. Published by the JNF (Keren Kayemet LeIsrael) that was hung in kinder gardens and schools during the 1960’s in order to endow the basics of Jewish holidays.

The Jewish National Fund was founded in 1901 to buy and develop land in Ottoman Palestine for Jewish settlement. By 2007, it owned 13% of the total land in Israel. Since its inception, the JNF says it has planted over 240 million trees in Israel. It has also built 180 dams and reservoirs, developed 250,000 acres of land and established more than 1,000 parks.

A 19th-century Dutch menorah, a brass frame and cast bronze designed with a high arch back wall, a hanging ring, side panels and a drip mold, an open closed brass lamp, on a wide base, the top with three elongated flores de lis with handles, and a large Star of David. A Czech Hanukkah lamp in a bohemian design, 18th century Prague, the back of a menorah is decorated and open with a large medallion in the center, decorated with a wreath around it and a Star of David above it. Decorated with knitwear, flowers, rookie and wreaths of leaves. Two figures of Moshe Rabbeinu and Aharon HaCohen support both sides of the menorah while Aharon holds the sun, the back panel of the lattice is in the Rokoco-style forging style. Dimensions: height 18 cm, width 25 cm.

Chanukah lamp used as “Mizrach” (East) – Morocco
Hanukkah lamp. [Morocco, first half of the 20th century].
Cut tin, drilled and embedded; Chisel work.
A Hanukkah lamp that was also used as an “east”. In the center of the back wall are a seven-branched lamp, a shofar and a miter. In the center of the lamp is engraved the inscription “Mizrach”, and above it is the inscription “These candles are holy”. Two Star of David trapped in flowers appear to the left and right of the lamp. At the top of the wall is a pair of birds. The side walls as well as the side edges of the back wall are decorated with drilled triangles and additional geometric patterns.
Length: 29.5 cm, width: 28 cm. Weight: 586 grams. Good condition.

In the center a decoration of a large menorah in the background a leaf pattern, two jars and 2 birds on its sides two spiral pillars, the sun hanging high in the center.
