Aliyah to the Land of Israel and the establishment of Israel represent the final step in the realization of Zionism.

Since the inception of Zionism, the catalyst that has always encouraged Jewish immigration to Israel is the disturbances and anti-Semitism they have experienced in the Diaspora from the Middle Ages until today.

At the end of the 19th century, with the rise of nationalist movements in Europe, waves of immigration to Israel began. The Aliyah to Israel can be divided into two main periods – before and after WWII. The immigrants in the first period were mostly motivated by nationalists and pioneering ideology, but the riots of the Holocaust caused the immigration to Israel to be out of necessity and thus also caused the realization of Zionism and the declaration of a Jewish state.

These days the State of Israel faces enemies who seek to destroy it, a difficult time for Israel and Jews worldwide. Aliyah has always strengthened Israel’s power, Jews around the world are reporting a growing wave of anti-Semitism. The existence of Israel has never been more crucial for the safety of Jewish communities globally, in the end, Israel is the safest place for Jews despite all the difficulties.
