11 Sep Bridging 1945 and Today: Shana Tova from Farkash Gallery
Dear Friends,
As we approach Rosh Hashanah, I wanted to share a very special piece of history with you. The attached image is an original vintage poster from 1945 (Rosh Hashanah 5706) published by the National Committee for the Jewish Soldier. It reads “A Gift for Our Soldiers” and proudly displays the emblem of the Jewish Brigade, honoring the brave men and women who fought for our people’s survival.
Looking at this remarkable poster today, the bridge between our past and our present is undeniably powerful. Today, just as it was back then, our soldiers are the most important pillars of our nation. As you know, Israel is still in the midst of a difficult war. It is only because of the absolute courage and sacrifice of the young men and women of the IDF on the front lines that we can protect the State of Israel and have the privilege to gather and celebrate this holiday.
They defended our future then, and they are defending our home now.
Farkash Gallery wishes health and strength to our soldiers on the front lines. They are doing holy work in continuing to defend the State of Israel, fulfilling the sacred commandment of guarding our people. As we enter the new year, we also remember and honor all the fallen soldiers who gave their lives guarding the State of Israel.
May this be a year of security and unity, bringing peace and the safe return of all our soldiers and hostages. Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and sweet New Year.
