One of Israel’s most beloved and enduring sporting traditions, the Sea of Galilee Swim is the country’s largest open-water swimming event. First held competitively in 1943 and organized by Hapoel, the swim takes place annually, usually in September or October, when the weather cools but rain has yet to arrive. This rare 1966 vintage poster, designed by the iconic Hovev Kruvi, celebrates a cornerstone of Israeli popular sports culture.
