Passover symbolises the exodus of the Jewish people from slavery to freedom and a few days after Passover we celebrate Israel’s Independence Day. In 1948, Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of the State of Israel which is transformation of the Jewish people from slavery to freedom.
All the newspapers debated among them who would be the first to publish the news of the establishment of the State of Israel, and on the same day, Prime Minister Ben Gurion asked all newspaper owners in Israel to collaborate and print a festive newspaper announcing the establishment of the State of Israel. They indeed collaborated and printed the special edition of the paper called “State Day” with Herzl’s photo at the top of the paper.
