Original Poster – The Promenade Quartet (Raviiyat HaTayelet), 1960s
Rare original poster of The Promenade Quartet (Raviiyat HaTayelet), one of the most popular Israeli vocal groups of the mid-1960s. Produced by Company for Events and Performances Ltd., the poster captures the optimistic spirit of the era through its clean modernist graphic design and strong visual presence.
The poster is printed in black and white and features bold geometric Hebrew typography across the upper section. At the center is a studio photograph of the quartet, smiling and posed in a relaxed, informal manner that reflects the youthful and energetic atmosphere of the period. One of the female performers is shown holding a stage prop, while the other members strike dynamic poses that add movement and vitality to the composition. The combination of striking photography and modern graphic design creates a highly appealing and distinctly Israeli vintage poster.
The Promenade Quartet was among the most successful Israeli vocal ensembles of the 1960s. The original members were Ooshik Levi, Hedva Amrani, David Tal, and Gabi Berlin. Three of the members—Ooshik Levi, Hedva Amrani, and David Tal—were veterans of the Central Command Entertainment Troupe, while Gabi Berlin came from the Armored Corps Entertainment Troupe. The group was active primarily between 1964 and 1965 and became well known for its fresh vocal harmonies and lively stage performances.
Among their best-known songs were “Halayla LaTayelet” (Tonight to the Promenade), “Rosa,” and “Wadi Ara,” all of which became part of the soundtrack of Israeli popular music during the period. Interestingly, the group’s first album credits Netzachia Har-Sagai instead of Hedva Amrani, suggesting that the lineup changed at various points during the ensemble’s short but influential career.
Based on the photograph featured on this poster, it appears to depict the quartet’s most recognized lineup: Hedva Amrani, Ooshik Levi, David Tal, and Gabi Berlin.
Original posters of Israeli singers and vocal groups from the 1950s and 1960s are becoming increasingly scarce. Large-format promotional posters intended for public display are particularly sought after by collectors. This poster represents an authentic cultural artifact from a formative period in Israeli entertainment and popular music history.
Good condition, showing expected signs of age and use consistent with a vintage poster of this period.
