About the IDF Paratroopers Brigade: The IDF Paratroopers Brigade (Tzanchanim) is an elite infantry force renowned for its immense courage and pivotal role in Israel’s history. This is the unit that liberated Jerusalem during the Six-Day War in 1967, and was formerly commanded by Ariel Sharon in the 1950’s. Over the decades, the Paratroopers have spearheaded some of the most daring operations in military history, including the famous combat parachute drop at the Mitla Pass during the 1956 Sinai Campaign, and their crucial participation in the legendary hostage rescue at Entebbe in 1976.
