Vintage Israeli Educational Posters For Young Children Exhibition

The Farkash Gallery is proud to present an online exhibition of children’s posters from the 1950s of the well-known Ofer books publishing.

There is no one in Israel who does not remember Ofer Publishing, also called Ofer Library, founded in 1957. Many generations of Israeli children grew up on this library. Ofer Publishing was established in response to quality and original Israeli literature for children, accessible and suitable for any pocket. The publication deals with children’s literature. Juvenile educational literature, cookbooks, workbooks, baby books and a variety of books on various subjects.
The Internet did not exist at that time and the naive and so colorful illustrations made each child and girl magnetize. In the 1950s most new immigrants did not know Hebrew and these paintings also helped adults learn Hebrew.
