12 Feb Collecting Vintage Posters: What You Need to Know to Make a Good Investment
Over the past three decades, the vintage posters market has experienced steady growth on a global basis. These posters have found their way from advertising pillars to elegant poster galleries and well-known auction houses.
Due to their eye-catching effect and their proven ability to increase their value over time, making them an attractive low-risk investment opportunity.
When it comes to collecting Israeli posters, there’s more to it than aesthetics and a wise investment. These posters hold an additional layer of value and historical significance, with each one having its own unique story to tell
If you are looking to start or expand your collection of vintage posters, it is important to consider various factors to ensure you’re making the right choice. Typically, the following factors have an impact on the poster value.
Printing Method And lithography
Vintage posters were printed using old printing methods like stone lithography. Stone lithography is a very difficult, time-consuming process resulting in vibrant colors. After World War II, offset and silkscreen printing replaced it. Typically, older posters printed with the stone lithography process are of higher value than the newer posters.
Though, there are also some offset or silkscreen posters achieving high prices.

Rarity And Condition-
Rarity is key to understanding the present and future value of your posters. The rarity of a poster is an important, though hard-to-assess factor. The posters were mostly printed in runs of 100-50, most of which were destroyed when torn from the wall and only a few survived the ravages of time.
The better the condition, the more valuable is the poster. However, a very rare poster may achieve a high price even in poor condition.
