This is a rare, original advertising poster and framed cardboard display sign for the “Sherf Shaving Stick.” Manufactured during the British Mandate period (pre-1948) in the Land of Israel, this piece is an exceptional historical collectible. As depicted in the image file “Vintage shaving soap poster Israel 1930s, the artwork perfectly captures the classic advertising aesthetic of the era.

Design & Artwork The poster features a striking graphic illustration, styled like a charcoal or pencil sketch, depicting a man looking into a mirror as he lathers his face with a shaving brush and foam.

In the lower-left corner, there is a detailed illustration of the product’s packaging rendered in green, black, and white. The illustrated box displays the following text:

• English: “SHERF SOAP FACTORY Co, RISHON-LE-ZION, MADE IN PALESTINE.”

• Hebrew: “סבון גלוח שרף” (Sherf Shaving Soap).

• Logo details: The top of the packaging features a logo with the letter “E” positioned beneath a three-pronged crown.

Prominently displayed at the bottom right of the sign is the Hebrew text “סבון גלוח שרף” in a bold, stylized block font utilizing striking shades of green and black. Additionally, a distinct monogram of the letter “W” is located in the very bottom left corner of the artwork.

Condition & Materials This is a hard cardboard sign, now presented framed. While the front showcases the detailed artwork, the blank back of the cardboard reveals the authentic, naturally aged tone of the vintage paper.
